POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Roeland Park Community Center is looking for a Facility Attendant. This part-time position involves light maintenance and cleaning. The work time is flexible so you can work in the early, mid, or later parts of the day. This position would be on Friday, Saturday, and or Sunday, with pay between $17.14-$25.71. Applicants must be at least 18 years old.

FLSA: Part-time, Non-Exempt

 

JOB SUMMARY AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 Responsible for setup, tear down and cleaning of rental rooms for events, courses and parties. Upholds rental policies and procedures. Completes light maintenance duties to include: Cleaning restrooms, taking out the trash, sanitizing, laundry and minor landscaping tasks. May open and/or close facility depending on scheduled shift. Approximately 8-18 hours per week depending on building usage. Position is year-round.  Must be available evenings and/or weekends. Must be attentive to detail, self-motivated, and able to work with the public. Must be able to do some heavy lifting (50-65 lbs.) Minimum age 18.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to operate floor cleaning machines and vacuums.
  • Ability to set up and take down tables and chairs
  • Knowledge of and ability to complete basic cleaning and organizing tasks.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • The applicant must pass a background check and drug test.

ADA REQUIREMENTS: 

Physical Requirements: Tasks involve frequent walking, standing; some lifting and carrying objects of heavy weight (75-100 lbs.); and the operation of vehicles, office equipment and hand tools in which manipulative skills and hand-eye coordination are important ingredients of safe and/or productive operations.

Environmental Requirements: Tasks may require frequent exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as inclement weather, heat, and extreme cold.

Sensory Requirements: Tasks require visual perception and discrimination. Task requires oral communications ability.
