The Institute for Human Development (IHD), a University Center on Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD) is an applied research and training center for human services designed to exemplify the University’s goals of engaged scholarship and community partnerships. Its functions include interdisciplinary training, applied research, community program development and information dissemination.

Job Description

This position will coordinate support functions for the IHD Early Childhood Innovation Center to ensure that program goals and objectives are accomplished in accordance with established priorities, time limitations, funding limitations or other specifications. This role has four primary components: communication, monitoring project management, coordinating meetings, and providing logistical support. Supervision of student workers may be required as needed for program support functions.

  • Manage day-to-day communication for the Early Childhood Innovation Center. Prepare letters, email, social media, and content for info-graphics, flyers, or newsletters. Coordination and collaborate with the IHD Information Dissemination Team. Point of contact among employees, partners, and other external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate the development and dissemination of reports of the Early Childhood Innovation Center (routing for content reviews, formatting, proofreading, printing, distribution).
  • Develop and monitor project management processes including the use of tools (e.g., software or applications) to manage large, complex, and multiuser projects. Monitor the completion of subcontracts issued by the Early Childhood Innovation Center.
  • Coordinate logistics for meetings and events for the Early Childhood Innovation Center.
  • Prepare and distribute meeting minutes and notes for the Early Childhood Innovation Center.
  • Serve as the assistant to the Associate Director or Project Coordinator including managing calendar and scheduling, making travel arrangements, and performing other tasks as needed.
  • Serve as the National Information and Reporting System (NIRS) liaison for the IHD Research and Evaluation Function (coordinating data entry and reviewing the function’s activities to ensure reporting is complete and accurate).
  • Prepare and process purchasing requests for the Early Childhood Innovation Center and monitor their fulfillment.
  • Provide support to the Early Childhood Innovation Center’s administrative team which may include but is not limited to data entry, filing, and other activities as needed.
  • Supervise student workers to assist with program support functions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience working in an early childhood setting (birth through 3rd grade).
  • Ability to manage Social Media accounts for an organization or individual.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Excel, Powerpoint, and Word), and MS Project.
  • Qualtrics and RedCap.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Experience writing in a professional capacity.

Anticipated Hiring Range

$17.96 – $23.80 per hour commensurate with experience, education, and internal equity.
