Position Description:
The role of an admissions nurse is a specialized position. Admissions nurses serve as the first point of contact in the journey into hospice. The RN Admissions Nurse reports to the Admissions Team RN Manager.  The Admission Nurse is responsible for the education, assessment and enrollment of referred patients into the hospice benefit and palliative care program.  In addition, the Admissions RN will assess patients to determine eligibility for the hospice house.

The Ideal Candidate Will Possess the Following Requirements:
⦁ Current Kansas and Missouri RN License
⦁ Home Health or Hospice experience preferred
⦁ RN experience in acute or sub-acute care and knowledge of clinical manifestations of diseases.
⦁ Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
⦁ Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records
⦁ Maintain and provide proof of a valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
⦁ Maintain valid CPR certification required
⦁ Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with others; and to prepare and present information in oral and written formats
⦁ Superior organizational skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines; must schedule and manage time effectively
